Nestor
Medina: Born in
Buenos Aires began his tango dancing at 16 years of age. He
learnt to dance tango by watching professional dancers like Carlos
Copes. Tango Academies did not exist at that point in time so
young passionate tango people practiced their steps in each other’s
homes backyards. Nestor danced to the music of great Tango
orchestras like Disarli, Pugliese, Darienzo and singers like Angel
Vargas, Alberto Castillo, etc.
Olga:
Born in Buenos
Aires, had passion for Tango and grew up to love and respect it’s
music and learnt to dance it since she was 15. She learnt with
excellent dancers like Roberto Duran and Ruben Mosi. Olga practiced
in people’s homes until she was 18 years old so then she could dance
in Milongas (tango nights) with professional musicians and singers.
Nestor and Olga
met in a milonga when they were
both very young and danced together since then. They won various
trophies and awards in Tango Competitions, danced in various events
for not only for presentation but also for charity purposes to raise
money to help the Spanish community. They also integrated a musical
play at the Tom Mann Theatre in Sydney. On March 2007, they won the
Tango Category at the Hispano America Live 2007 held at Marconi
Club. They both organised many
Tango competitions and milongas and they are now conducting tango
Classes in their Academy
El Firulete.
